CREATING AN ENGAGING & EDITORIAL SHOWCASE FOR CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Our initial step was to distil the content into three overarching chapters – People, Product, Planet – which would give focus to each topic and give them space to breathe. Typically, documents like this are overstuffed with content, leading to a bit of an information overload for the reader. Our approach was going to make this exciting, engaging, accessible and easily digestible.

The overall approach is fresh and editorial. We retained the brand look and feel for SEG – using their fresh, bright colour palette, fun illustrations and full bleed photography to bring pages to life. Getting the hierarchy of each page is a careful balancing act – in these documents there’s an expected focus on facts and figures, we gave these a graphical language through iconography and created custom maps and graphs, so it was both easy to understand at a glance and had stand out to refer back to as the document progressed.

Southeastern Grocers are so pleased with the work (and understandably proud of their own achievements and initiatives) that the report is now available to the public in full on their website.
