The brief
We were asked to create a brand and design the store for a new liquor store concept – one that would feel elevated and part of a high-end experience for customers yet with affordable prices. This was not going to be your average liquor store; it is stocked with speciality and rare spirits, food pairings (perfect for charcuterie boards) a wine tasting station and a huge selection of local and craft beers. The goal was to thoroughly disrupt the liquor landscape and provide customers with a totally fresh experience that brings a new meaning to their liquor store run.
The look & feel
Building on the success of WDs Taproom, we developed the brand identity and visual tool kit. It uses stamps, graphics, and illustration, inspired by heritage liquor bottles, to bring it all to life. We designed everything from the store exterior, internal signage, pricing tags, shopping bags and uniforms. At each touchpoint we ensured that the brand kit worked at all levels.
Store exterior
We developed the look and feel of the store to really create an impact. The bold red stripe sets off this striking building which features pendant and industrial wall lighting with window vinyls (using our bottle stencils). As a very cool extra touch, a local artist based in Jacksonville created a bespoke mural (that’s calling out for a photoshoot!) as a final flourish.
We loved working with our client on this project, taking it from concept on a page to a real bricks and mortar environment. We always create a wow-factor when customers arrive, making the space enjoyable to shop and somewhere they’ll want to shout about to their friends. We can’t wait to pay this fresh liquor destination a visit soon.
