Small Business Collaborative
CREATING A COHERENT, MEMORABLE, INSPIRING AND AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE.
Therese Ørtenblad – aka, The Small Business Collaborative – seeks to help small, independent businesses achieve their dreams (and keep their joy) through mentorship and industry know-how. An experienced wholesale buyer herself, Therese knows what it takes for small boutique brands to understand the world of retail and works with them to help grow their sales.
Therese admitted that she often felt that her own brand lacked consistency, had never really been formally set and therefore would change depending on her mood. We knew we’d be able to help Therese solidify this, bring a clear vision for The Small Business Collaborative and give her a flexible brand toolkit to apply to her social channels and website.

The first thing we like to do with all new clients is fully immerse ourselves in their brand as it stands, get to know them personally and also set homework that helps our client think on a deeper level about what their brand is.
From there, our work started with establishing the brand purpose and pillars to give a solid foundation for the creative build on. We then began exploring the graphical elements that would ultimately make up the kit of parts of the brand.
The logo design is inspired by Therese’s own personality – quietly confident yet approachable. The connection of the the ll’s symbolising the helping hand she gives to her clients – the collaboration and connection between businesses. The brand colours have a fresh, bold and contemporary feel while the typefaces are a characterful way to flex the brand personality. The photography is stylized to hero our colour palette (Confidant Mustard, Caring Pink, Down to earth Green…) and used to anchor and amplify The Small Business Collaborative’s messaging.
Now Therese has a strong brand look and feel that she can use promote her own brand and ultimately help more small, creative businesses make more of their ‘side hustle’.
